Insurance claims
Filing a property damage claim and navigating the claims process afterwards can be an overwhelming endeavor for many people. Sure filing the claim itself isn’t that difficult but how do I know if my adjuster did a thorough inspection of my property damage and accounted for everything? Also, how do I know if the adjuster wrote an accurate estimate after documenting the damage? Did they write the new estimate with applicable code upgrades? These questions and more come up throughout the claims process and that’s why CCR has dedicated claims specialists to help our customers along the way.
Ideal Insurance Claims Process:
1
Inspect the entire property and create a detailed damage report for the customer.
Create Estimate using same estimating software that insurance uses (Xactimate)
Present scope of damages and estimate to the customer
Consult with the customer about the best course of action (ie file an insurance claim, don’t file, etc.)
If a claim is filed our claims specialist will meet with your adjuster (This is the most important job of our claims specialist because this is when we do our best to make sure the homeowner’s adjuster is accounting for all the damage to the property and writing an accurate estimate!)
Receive Insurance paperwork/estimate and explain estimate with Homeowner
If the estimate is accurate the job will be added to production and the homeowner will be notified when their material will arrive and when the job will be built
After work is complete, a CCR project manager will do a walkaround with the homeowners to make sure they are satisfied with the work.
The final Invoice will be sent to the Insurance carrier to release the remaining funds for work completed
An identical Final Invoice will be sent to Homeowner for final payment
Exceptions
What if I have already filed a claim and received insurance paperwork? Can CCR still help me? Yes, we can but it’s not an ideal situation for the homeowner or CCR. Unfortunately, right after a catastrophe, especially a hurricane, there are thousands, sometimes hundreds of thousands of insurance claims filed, and there just aren’t enough expert claims adjusters to meet the demand. So, many of the adjusters assigned to the claims are either brand new to the industry or have only a few months of experience. Also, many of the expert adjusters are overworked. This combination leads to inaccurate inspections of the homeowners property as well as inaccurate estimates. However, if the homeowner has already received an inaccurate estimate, a CCR Claims Specialist can compare their damage assessment and estimate with the insurance estimate to decide if CCR needs to supplement the insurance for mistakes made or not. Usually supplements will have to be submitted to the insurance provider if their estimate was poorly written. Unfortunately, supplements submitted to the insurance company will take several months to be approved, which will put the production of the homeowners job on hold even longer. This is why its best to have a CCR claims specialist meet your adjuster to help them with their scope of damage report and estimate to avoid having to supplement the insurance company later and postponing the homeowners restoration of their property.

These guys are amazing. Immediately started on a holiday, did a beautiful job in record time. Ches was more than patient with me, and dealth with my insurance company. They gave me a good price, were completely honest and trustworthy, which was huge to me as I live in Canada and had been swindled by a different contractor. HIGHLY RECOMMEND Ches and his crew.
